The exchange lasts for at least three weeks. In order to go on exchange, the first year of vocational training needs to be completed. If you cannot meet both these requirements, please contact the secretariat to find a solution.

The exchange is possible in all the different regions within Switzerland. Further, there is a possibility to complete the exchange in Germany or Austria. In England we offer stays combining language training and placement. Any new ideas can be stated on the application form and the realization will be clarified by the secretariat.

As soon as the application form is completed, visite starts looking for a suitable exchange company and accommodation.

If you already have a specific company in mind, state it on the application form.

A mutual exchange that does not take place at the same time is ideal. During the exchange, the apprentices work and learn together. Once the first exchange is over, the guest becomes the hosting apprentice and supports the other participant during the exchange.

Whenever possible, the apprentice attends the local vocational school during the exchange. The apprentice’s own school needs to be informed about the absence by the training company. If any support is needed, visite will be happy to help.

Wage and insurance are paid by the training company during the exchange. Illnesses, accidents and personal liability need to be insured during the exchange in Switzerland as well as abroad and are the apprentice’s responsibility.

The apprentices submits a completely filled and signed application form. During the exchange they adapt to the circumstances such as working hours, work equipment and company culture. Apprentices living with host families are expected to integrate themselves. Wishes and suggestions for improvement are always welcome.

After the exchange is completed, the apprentices receive a certificate from visite, verifying the successful exchange. This can increase their chances at the beginning of their working carreer.
