Visite is an independent association of Rotary Switzerland/Liechtenstein which has been organising exchanges for apprentices for over 17 years. The head office is located in Zürich. In order to cover all language regions in Switzerland visite has further contact points in the French- and Italian-speaking parts.

History

Visite was founded in 1998 from the Rotary Club of Uster as a programme to lower youth unemployment. Starting off very small, only a handful of interested apprentices per year went on exchange to Prenzlau, the partner city of Uster near Berlin, to improve their career start opportunities.

Soon visite was firmly anchored in the region and grew nationally as well as internationally. This steady growth called for a new structure and the association visite was founded on 14 April 2008.

Today, more than 70 apprentices participate in the programme every year.

Rotary

Rotary is the world’s oldest service club, founded 1905 in Chicago. Its members are men and women from all professions. They meet in more than 34’000 Rotary Clubs engaging in humanitarian activities and active peace work. With visite, an exchange programme for young people in their professional training was established under the trusteeship of Rotary Switzerland/Liechtenstein. Rotary enables the organisation of the exchanges and provides the organisers with an enormous network. The following Rotary Clubs are members of visite.
